As a 501(c)3 non-profit, Just A Breath Away Foundation relies on the generosity of our Circle of Hope Community and through the beautiful artwork created by STBI (Severe Traumatic Brain Injury) survivor and founder, Kathleen Newhouse.
With every painting purchased, contribution made or story told, Just A Breath Away will give back to those individuals with STBI and their families who have suffered emotional, physical and often unimaginable pain.
How do I make a donation?

Can I make a donation in someone’s name/in memory of?
Yes. We understand you may want to choose an alternative gift options for birthdays, holidays, memorials and many other occasions. Visit our online donation form to select “make an honor or memorial gift.” Fill in the blank space with the names and addresses of who you would like to receive an honor card. Or, if you are making an Eternal Painting Gift purchase in memory of a loved one, please provide the name and address of who we should send the painting to, who the gift is in memory of, and who made the gift purchase.
What will I receive with my painting purchase?
At JABA we call our paintings an Eternal Gift. With each original oil painting purchased you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity, Kathleen’s Signature Stamp and a Letter of Thanks with a receipt for your purchase.
Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes, once your donation has been processed, you will receive a confirmation letter and receipt that you can keep for your personal records. You should receive this acknowledgement four to six weeks after we receive your donation.
Will my painting receipt or JABA donation be used wisely?
Yes! Just A Breath Away is proud to share that we donate 100% of our proceeds to STBI survivors and their families.
How does Just A Breath Away select STBI survivors to donate to?
We speak to individuals every day. We select survivors monthly based on our total painting donation.

Your digital contact information is protected by industry standard security measures. Specifically, our online payment processor, Classy, is 100% PCI DSS compliant (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). Classy similarly encrypts credit card data for an additional layer of security when processing your gifts. Likewise, our online store, Shopify, maintains a comprehensive set of compliance certifications and attestations.
JABA does not store any personal contact or credit card information in physical form. Any pledges made using physical donation solicitations are destroyed within 30 days of gift processing.
